Rural Renewal Stream

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The province has implemented major changes to the Rural Renewal Stream (RRS) due to reduced federal nomination allocations. Community Endorsement Limits: Designated communities now receive a strict, set limit on the number of candidate endorsements they can issue per year, rather than operating with unlimited capacity. 

The Village of Linden has already filled its 2026 intakes. Allocations for 2027 have not been announced and are not expected to be known until late February 2027.

What the RRS means for Linden:

The RRS is a provincial initiative to attract and retain newcomers to rural Albertan communities to drive economic and community growth. The Village of Linden joined the RRS as a Partner Community under the Town of Trochu’s Community Designation in 2023.

Businesses in Linden (and within an approximate 5-kilometre vicinity) can apply to become an Approved Business to take part in the program. Businesses can advocate for chosen Candidates to work for their company to fill positions that have not been filled in the local community.
