Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) and the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) are hosting an eye-opening webinar for potential candidates in this fall’s municipal elections. The associations are offering numerous one-hour sessions from April to September. Prospective candidates can register on our Events web page with links to webinars that correspond to the size of the municipality in which they will run.
Webinar participants will discover:
- What local councils control
- The actual time commitment (most councillors work regular jobs, too)
- How decisions in small municipalities create immediate, visible & long-lasting impacts
- How skills acquired from work, community activities & family life apply to serving on municipal council.
Guest council members will share candid stories about their transformations from concerned citizens to community leaders. They will also tell you what they wish they had known before they ran for council and answer questions.
Head to our Events web page to find a webinar that suits your municipality and schedule!
