Council Meeting Highlights

September 8, 2025

• Presentation by Deborah Reid-Mickler Vice President and Summer Villages – Alberta Municipalities during the Committee of the Whole Meeting.
• Amanda Rempfer appointed as the Development Officer, CAO as the alternate Development Officer.
• Transfer of $650,000 representing grant monies received for the Coulee Dam project between account at CFCU approved.
• Councillor Ens to attend the Disability Employment Awareness Month rally in Olds on Sept 16.
• Administration to request a meeting with Minster of Municipal Affairs during the ABmunis Conference in November.
• Wetaskiwin Flying Club authorized to purchase and install a windsock similar to the existing, remove fence line weeds and paint or make fence posts with a contrasting color or reflectors providing the adjacent land owners do not disapprove.
• Transfer of $3,158.99 between accounts at CFCU to cover the purchase of two desktop computers.
• ATCO electric franchise fee payment to remain at 6%.
• ATCO gas franchise fee payment to remain at 15.23%.
• Canada Food Bank donation request accepted for information.
• A refund of $1,506.15 to the current property owner for sewage consumption charges. Admin to develop a policy that states that the owner of any private septic system not be charged sewage usage fees but continue to pay the sewage basic fee.
• Admin to purchase two theatre tickets for the Rosebud Theatre as a retirement gift.
