Council Meeting Highlights

    October 15, 2024 Organizational Meeting

    • Flo Robinson as declared Mayor by ballot for the 2024-2025 term.
    • Kelly Klassen was delcared Deputy Mayor for the 2024-2025 term.
    • Council accepted the 2024-2025 Commitee Representatives.

     

    October 15, 2024 Regular Meeting

    • Council approved Policy 2024-06P Council Remuneration Policy.
    • Council approved the documents outlined in the “Records or Destruction 2024 List” for destruction.
    • Council to circulate amongst the Visitors at Linden Fall Fair and engage in conversation.
    • Council approved the 2025 Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Budget and Allocation as presented.

     

    October 28, 2024

    • Council had a presentation from Jackie Seely, Donor Relations & Development Officer with the STARS foundation.
    • Council approved a donation of $1,000 towards STARS.
    • Council approved a transfer of $4,780 from the operating account to the savings account held at CFCU(MVC income & donation for the Fire Department).
    • Council approved the resignation of Cheyenne Stapley as the School Representative for the Linden Municipal Library.
    • Council approved the appointment of Carla Peters as School Representative to the Linden Municipal Library Board for a 1 year term ending October 9, 2025.
    • Council directed Admin to research if the sustainability component of the New Capital Funding for Municipalities can be used towards repairing the coulee dam and bring back findings to the November 12, 2024 Regular Meeting of Council.

     

    November 12, 2024

    • Council had a presentation from RCMP Sgt. Patey.
    • Council authorized the sharing of costs (legal, advertising, etc.) with the Village of Acme in relation to the Kneehill County Bylaw 1905 Municipal Development Plan.
    • Council approved the join media release as presented.
    • Council approved the news release to be placed in the PO Boxes through the Linden Post Office.
    • Council approved sponsoring the $100 Acme School Leadership Award and that Mayor Robinson attend to present the award.
    • Council approved that all permanent staff be provided a gift card in the amount of $150 each.
    • Council approved a budget of $350 for the Light Up the Coulee Event.
    • Council authorized the Light Up the Village Competition.
    • Council received for information the 2024 Christmast Closure Report.
    • Council directed Admin to provide direction to the Village Planners in order to proceed with the draft Area Structure Plan Policy.
    • Council directed Admin to contact legal counsel and proceed with the lease agreement as negotiated.
    • Council authorized the CAO to sign the Data Sharing Agreement with Elections Alberta.
    • Council approved the sale of the 1992 Ford Medium Heavy garbage truck for the negotiated amount.
    • Council authorized Admin to obtain legal counsel to review the proposed draft Agreement and provide comment and/or recommendations.
