We are seeking a motivated, detail oriented, enthusiastic individual to join our Support Team.  This position is a permanent full-time position, eligible for pension and health benefits.  Minimum requirements include possessing a High School Diploma or GED and recent administrative experience. This multi-faceted municipal administrative position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for providing front office clerical support in a variety of areas; various accounting and clerical duties including accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, property taxes, utilities and cash receipts.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, governmental or utility desired.
  • Knowledge of computers and office applications with the ability to operate and use technology.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, tactfully, and effectively with the public, developers, coworkers, administrative staff, local agencies and members of Village Council.
  • Demonstrate effective conflict management skills.
  • Manage time well, be highly organized and plan work assignments effectively to maintain a smooth flow of record keeping and information processing.

The Village of Linden is currently accepting resumes for one member at large to sit on our Municipal Planning Commission (MPC).

The Municipal Planning Commission is composed of five (5) members appointed by resolution of Council as follows:  two (2) Council Members and three (3) members at large.  The MPC serve as Subdivision Authority pursuant to Section 623 of the Act (Subdivision Authority appointed by Council to Palliser Regional Municipal Services); serve as development authority on those matters referred to it by the Development Officer pursuant to Section 624; and advise and assist on all other planning matters as referred to in Section 7.0 of the Bylaw 2017-03.

Only Village of Linden residents are eligible to sit as a member at large on the MPC.  Member at large appointments shall be appointed for an initial term of not more than three years so long as not more than one-member at large term expires in any one year.  Members at large shall be eligible to serve for a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms.  Then, they must sit out at least one (1) year prior to again being eligible to serve on the Commission.  Three voting members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum for the making of all decision and for doing any action required to be done by the Chairperson.  The Commission shall appoint from amongst its members the following positions for a period of not more than one year; Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson.  Meetings are normally at least one every two months and may be held as required.
