Snow Removal

By-Law 03-05 states:
"2. The owner or occupant of any premises abutting a sidewalk shall clear away any snow, ice, dirt or other obstruction from the front and flank of the abutting sidewalk within TWENTY-FOUR (24) HOURS after the time such snow, ice, dirt or other obstruction was deposited or formed on the sidewalk " This includes your driveway entrance. Also, if you live on a lot that is next to an alleyway entrance, you are responsible for half of that sidewalk entrance.
If you wish to read the By-Law in its entirety, it is located on the Bylaws page under 'Sidewalk Bylaw' or contact the Village office if you have questions or concerns.

When shovelling the snow, try to push it onto your lawn instead of the gutters. This will provide much needed moisture for your lawn and garden; and it helps to prevent ice build up on the streets and in the gutters. Please ensure that alleyway behind your home is clear of all obstructions (vehicles, trailers, other debris, etc.) and all vehicles to be stored for winter are off the streets and alleyways.

Linden Fire and Rescue Fundraising

Tax receipts available at Village office

For those of you who donated or purchased items or just gave cash, your tax receipts are now available for pick up in the Village office.

The Linden Fire and Rescue has a new website. Please click on their name to get more details and help our Volunteers. Without the Fire Department, lives would be lost and property destroyed. They face dangers and tragedies that the average person would turn away from. Please support our department. Every little bit helps.

OIL RECYCLING

You can now recycle your used motor oil at the Linden Transfer Site. There is a container to collect your used motor oil as well as bins for the empty oil containers. If you have any questions, please call 403-546-0166 during transfer site hours.

LINDEN RECREATION AND BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT

The Village has been actively seeking donations and grants to help beautify our surroundings, as well as add recreational facilities. The first stage of this project is complete, with the addition of a new fountain in the Coulee Park, generously donated by EnCana. There will be a dedication ceremony soon. Check back here for further details. EnCana will also be improving the walkways around the pond in the near future.

About Linden

Linden is a beautiful and safe place to raise a family. The friendly community involved Village is home to 741 residents (Municipal Census - May 13th, 2008). The natural coulée that bisects the Village offers a picturesque view and is home to geese, deer, herons and wild flowers.

Linden was incorporated into a Village in 1964 with 264 residents. Now with a population of 741, Linden readily works with the growing community to maintain its vision of meeting the needs of residents and business owners and attracting new, diverse businesses. One of the Village Councils beliefs is that Linden's concerns do not end at our Village boundaries; we cannot survive without the support of the rural residents and they depend on us for our services.

What would you like to see in the Village?

Welcome to the . . . "Rural Industrial Capital of Alberta!"

  • How can a relatively small community lay claim to this title?
    Consider the following:

  • A population of 741 (Municipal Census - May 13th, 2008)
  • A workforce of over 300
  • A yearly sales projection of over fifty million*
  • An annual payroll over seven million*
  • A highly developed manufacturing base
  • Home to agricultural based businesses such as the feed mill, dairy farm, truck & farm equipment supply, construction companies and more!
  • A diverse network of businesses meeting the needs of the farming community.
